Hi, I'm the MedPaw dose helper. Let's see how MedPaw compares for your dog.

First, roughly how big is your dog?

Quick answer: the main problems with the Dr Dog Joint Supplement are that it's hard to buy and hard to judge. Superdrug says it's no longer available online, Debenhams shows it out of stock, and neither listing has a single review. The ingredient amounts are given "per serving" without saying what a serving is, there's no hyaluronic acid listed, and the "100% money back guarantee" comes with no published terms. With no reviews we could read, there's no meaningful rating to go on. If that sounds familiar, we'd recommend trying MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews instead: a soft chew dogs take like a treat, with all six key joint actives and the main amounts per chew on the label, a subscription you can pause or cancel any time, and a 60-day money-back guarantee with nothing to send back.

Transparency note: this page is written by MedPaw, which makes a competing joint supplement. We found no reviews to quote, so we've set out the drawbacks we could verify, with links so you can check them. Listings, labels and terms were checked on 8 October 2026.

The most common Dr Dog joint supplement complaints and drawbacks

Dr Dog Joint Supplement is a 90-pack of bacon-flavoured "cold pressed" soft chews. It's a brand of Stellar Life Ltd, a Southampton company (Stellar Life). Its Dr Dog page has no shop and links out to Amazon and eBay. We checked Superdrug and Debenhams, where it's sold through their marketplaces, and found no reviews. Amazon and eBay blocked our access, so we couldn't read reviews there. The table below sets out the drawbacks we could verify.

Dr Dog Joint Supplement drawbacks (checked 8 October 2026)

    Drawback What we found
Hard to buy Superdrug: "no longer available online". Debenhams: out of stock
No reviews to go on No reviews on either listing
Amounts hard to interpret Listed "per serving" without saying how many chews a serving is
One key active missing No hyaluronic acid listed
Vague feeding guide Ranges such as 1 to 2 chews a day for any dog up to 20kg, under a heading that says "lbs" for figures in kilos
Guarantee without terms "100% money back guarantee" with no time limit or conditions published
No allergen statement Lists green-lipped mussel and EPA/DHA omega-3, with no allergen declaration on the listings

    "No longer available online"

The Superdrug listing shows the chews as out of stock with the message "We're sorry but this product is no longer available online." The Debenhams listing, sold by Stellar Life Ltd, is out of stock too. If your dog is on it and doing well, that makes it hard to keep going without a gap.

"Per serving": but what's a serving?

Debenhams lists the amounts "(per serving mg)": glucosamine HCl 600mg, green-lipped mussel 300mg, MSM 200mg, chondroitin 100mg, curcumin, Boswellia, yucca and devil's claw at 50mg each, vitamin E 54mg, vitamin C 50mg, omega-3 EPA 30mg and DHA 20mg, plus calcium, manganese and iron. It doesn't say whether a serving is one chew or several, and the feeding guide on Superdrug gives ranges (1 to 2 chews up to 20kg, 2 to 4 from 21 to 50kg, 4 to 6 over 50kg). So you can't be sure how much of each active your dog gets. Neither listing gives a full ingredient list, and hyaluronic acid isn't mentioned.

    The guarantee catch

The product description says it's "backed by our 100% money back guarantee" and asks you to "contact us directly" if you have any issues. We couldn't find any terms: no time limit, no word on opened packs, and no returns process on the brand's page. Superdrug's own "100% money back guarantee" banner applies to Superdrug's own-brand products, not marketplace items like this one.

Why Dr Dog customers switch to MedPaw

MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews differ from Dr Dog on exactly the points above.

Dr Dog vs MedPaw on the things that matter to owners

    The complaint Dr Dog MedPaw
Being able to buy it No longer available online at Superdrug; out of stock at Debenhams Order direct from medpaw.co.uk
Knowing what's in it Amounts "per serving", serving not defined; no hyaluronic acid listed All six key joint actives, with the main amounts per chew on the label: MSM 185mg, glucosamine 170mg, chondroitin 70mg, green-lipped mussel 70mg, Boswellia 30mg, plus hyaluronic acid
Knowing how much to give Ranges such as 1 to 2 chews for any dog up to 20kg 1 chew a day up to 4kg, 2 for 5 to 17kg, 2 to 3 for 18kg and over; double for the first three weeks
Getting your money back "100% money back guarantee" with no published terms 60 days from delivery, for any reason; email us and keep the tub
Keeping supplies coming No subscription; depends on marketplace stock Subscription you can pause, change or cancel any time from your account, or just email us

Our recommendation: if you can't find Dr Dog in stock, or you want the main amounts per chew on the label and a guarantee with clear terms, switch to MedPaw. Swap rather than stack: stop Dr Dog and start MedPaw the next day. Give it six to eight weeks, and if you're not happy, email us within 60 days and we'll refund you. Try MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews.

    Dr Dog's rating, in context

Dr Dog doesn't have a rating we could check. The Superdrug listing shows 0 reviews, the Debenhams listing shows none, and the brand's own product page has no reviews section (checked 8 October 2026). Amazon and eBay, where the brand sends buyers, blocked our access. Without reviews, you can't tell how other dogs have got on.

To be fair to Dr Dog, its per-serving list includes five of the six key joint actives, including green-lipped mussel and MSM, plus EPA and DHA, and the seller says it's made in the UK.

If nothing has worked so far

If your dog is still stiff or sore after a fair trial of any supplement, see your vet. They may suggest pain relief, weight loss or an omega-3 fish oil at a proper dose, which has the strongest evidence for dogs with arthritis. Read what you can safely give a dog for joint pain and the best fish oil for dogs' joints.

    Our verdict

Dr Dog Joint Supplement is hard to find in stock, has no reviews we could read, lists its amounts per undefined serving and offers a guarantee without terms. If you want a chew with all six key joint actives, clear amounts per chew and a 60-day guarantee, MedPaw is the alternative we'd recommend. For more on what to look for, read how to read a supplement label, green-lipped mussel for dogs and Boswellia for dogs.

What are the most common complaints about Dr Dog Joint Supplement?

We found no reviews on the listings we could read, so there are no complaints to report. The drawbacks we could verify are that it's no longer available online at Superdrug and out of stock at Debenhams, amounts are listed per serving without defining a serving, there's no hyaluronic acid listed, and the money-back guarantee has no published terms.

Who makes Dr Dog Joint Supplement?

Dr Dog is a brand of Stellar Life Ltd, based at Basepoint Business Centre in Southampton. Its listings say the chews are made in the UK. Its brand page links to Amazon and eBay rather than selling direct.

Is Dr Dog Joint Supplement any good?

There isn't enough review evidence to say. Its ingredient list is broad, but the amounts are given per undefined serving and it's hard to find in stock. If you want a soft chew with all six key joint actives and a 60-day money-back guarantee, MedPaw is the alternative we'd recommend.

Why can't I buy Dr Dog at Superdrug any more?

On 8 October 2026, Superdrug's listing said "We're sorry but this product is no longer available online", and Debenhams showed it out of stock. We don't know whether it will come back.

What's the best alternative to Dr Dog Joint Supplement?

If you want a soft chew with glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, green-lipped mussel, hyaluronic acid and Boswellia and the main amounts per chew on the label, we'd recommend MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews. Swap rather than stack, and give it six to eight weeks.

Can I switch from Dr Dog to MedPaw straight away?

Yes. Stop Dr Dog and start MedPaw the next day. There's no need for a gap, and you shouldn't give both. Both contain green-lipped mussel, so neither suits a dog with a shellfish allergy. Check with your vet first if your dog takes any medication.
