Hi, I'm the MedPaw dose helper. Let's see how MedPaw compares for your dog.

First, roughly how big is your dog?

Quick answer: the biggest drawback with Movoflex is that almost nobody has reviewed it in the UK, so you can't tell from reviews whether it works. The only product rating we found was 4 out of 5 from just 5 ratings on zooplus's international site, one of them 1 star with no reason given, and Virbac's own listing says "No reviews yet". There's also no money-back guarantee, opened packs can't be returned unless faulty, it contains egg and krill, and it has no glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM or green-lipped mussel. Virbac's 4.8 Trustpilot score is for its whole webshop, not Movoflex. If you want more certainty, we'd recommend trying MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews instead: a soft chew with all six key joint actives and the main amounts on the label, a subscription you can pause or cancel any time, and a 60-day money-back guarantee with nothing to send back.

Transparency note: this page is written by MedPaw, which makes a competing joint supplement. Reviews are quoted word for word with links so you can check them. Ratings and quotes were checked on 8 October 2026.

The most common Movoflex complaints and drawbacks

We couldn't find enough written UK reviews of Movoflex to identify product complaints, so the table below combines the feedback we did find with the practical drawbacks of the product and Virbac's terms. Webshop complaints come from about 80 recent reviews of Virbac's UK webshop on Trustpilot (late August to October 2026), of which 5 were 1 or 2 stars.

Movoflex complaints and drawbacks (what we found)

Complaint How often What reviewers said
Almost no product reviews Every UK source we checked Virbac's UK listing says "No reviews yet"; VetUK and Animed show none; just 5 ratings on zooplus.com
Low rating with no reason given 1 of the 5 zooplus ratings A 1 star rating for Movoflex with no written comment, so we can't say why
No money-back guarantee Virbac's own terms 14 days to request a return, opened products not accepted unless faulty, and you pay return postage
Delivery problems and refund waits About 3 of the 5 negative webshop reviews Parcels sent back after failed delivery, a refund that took a while to arrive, and one parcel that arrived broken open
Hard to find Limited stockists zooplus UK doesn't currently stock it, and we couldn't find the dog version on Viovet
No glucosamine or chondroitin Every chew Built on eggshell membrane and krill, with no glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM or green-lipped mussel

Sources: Virbac UK webshop on Trustpilot, zooplus.com and the Virbac UK shop listing. Frequencies are our estimates from a small sample.

    "No reviews yet"

That's what Virbac's own UK listing for Movoflex says, and it sums up the problem. Movoflex launched in the UK in July 2024 and is sold mainly through vets, online vet pharmacies and Virbac's webshop. VetUK and Animed show no product rating. The thousands of American reviews on sites like Chewy are for the US Movoflex range, which comes in 60-chew jars with different weight bands and a different ingredient line-up, so they don't describe the product sold in the UK.

Virbac's evidence is thin too. It cites a 2022 study of Movoflex itself (Nicolas et al., EC Veterinary Science) for its claim that owners saw better mobility within seven days, but that improvement was reported by owners, and we couldn't access the full study.

    What's not in it

Movoflex does publish its amounts per chew: eggshell membrane, krill powder, hyaluronic acid, Boswellia and algae meal (an astaxanthin source). What it doesn't have is glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM or green-lipped mussel. The chews contain egg (the eggshell membrane) and krill, a crustacean, and Virbac's page carries no separate allergen statement, so check with your vet if your dog has a food allergy.

    The guarantee catch

If Movoflex doesn't work for your dog, you're unlikely to get your money back. We couldn't find a money-back guarantee on Virbac's product page. Its returns policy gives you 14 days to request a return, opened products aren't accepted unless faulty, and you pay return postage. And under its subscription terms, changes don't apply to an order once you've had its confirmation email.

Why Movoflex customers switch to MedPaw

MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews differ from Movoflex on the points that make it hard to judge and hard to back out of.

Movoflex vs MedPaw on the complaints and drawbacks

    The complaint Movoflex MedPaw
Getting your money back No money-back guarantee; opened products not accepted unless faulty; you pay return postage 60 days from delivery, for any reason; email us and keep the tub
What's in it Eggshell membrane, krill, hyaluronic acid, Boswellia and astaxanthin; no glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM or green-lipped mussel All six key joint actives, with the main amounts per chew on the label: MSM 185mg, glucosamine 170mg, chondroitin 70mg, green-lipped mussel 70mg, Boswellia 30mg, plus hyaluronic acid
Changing the subscription Changes don't apply once you've had the order confirmation email Pause, change or cancel any time from your account, or just email us

Our recommendation: if you want a formula with glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and green-lipped mussel, your dog hasn't improved on Movoflex, or you'd like a guarantee in case it doesn't suit your dog, switch to MedPaw. Swap rather than stack: stop Movoflex and start MedPaw the next day. Give it six to eight weeks, and if you're not happy, email us within 60 days and we'll refund you. Try MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews.

    Movoflex's rating, in context

Virbac's UK webshop is rated 4.8 out of 5 ("Excellent") on Trustpilot from 654 reviews (checked 8 October 2026), but that score covers the whole shop, and its reviews are overwhelmingly about prescription diets, dental products and delivery. None of the 80 or so recent reviews we read mentioned Movoflex. The only Movoflex product rating we found was 4 out of 5 from 5 ratings on zooplus.com, with no written comments. So the strong score you'll see tells you about Virbac as a shop, not whether Movoflex will help your dog's joints.

To be fair to Movoflex, it's simpler to give than MedPaw, at one chew a day with no loading phase, it publishes the amount of every active including hyaluronic acid, and it's cheaper per month for a 25kg dog.

If nothing has worked so far

If your dog is still stiff or sore after a fair trial of any supplement, see your vet. They may suggest pain relief, weight loss or an omega-3 fish oil at a proper dose, which has the strongest evidence for dogs with arthritis. Read what you can safely give a dog for joint pain and the best fish oil for dogs' joints.

    Our verdict

Movoflex's weak spot is that there's almost nothing to go on: no meaningful UK product reviews, owner-reported evidence, and no money-back guarantee if it doesn't suit your dog. It also leaves out glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and green-lipped mussel. If you want a broader formula and the reassurance of a 60-day guarantee, MedPaw is the alternative we'd recommend. For more, see our Movoflex alternatives, Flexadin vs Movoflex and Movoflex vs YuMOVE guides.

What are the most common complaints about Movoflex?

There are almost no written UK reviews of Movoflex, so there's no clear pattern. The only product rating we found includes one unexplained 1 star rating. The main drawbacks are the lack of reviews, no money-back guarantee (opened products can't be returned unless faulty), no glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM or green-lipped mussel, and delivery complaints about Virbac's webshop.

    Is Movoflex any good?

There aren't enough UK reviews to say. The only product rating we found was 4 out of 5 from 5 ratings on zooplus's international site. Virbac's webshop is rated 4.8 on Trustpilot, but none of the recent reviews we read were about Movoflex. If you want a broader formula and a 60-day money-back guarantee, MedPaw is the alternative we'd recommend.

Can I get a refund on Movoflex?

We couldn't find a money-back guarantee. Virbac's returns policy gives you 14 days to request a return, opened products aren't accepted unless faulty, and you pay return postage. MedPaw's guarantee lasts 60 days from delivery and you don't need to send anything back.

How many Movoflex chews should my dog have?

One a day, in the right size: Small for dogs under 15kg, Medium for 15 to 35kg and Large for over 35kg. There's no loading phase. Virbac suggests trying it for at least 30 days.

What's the best alternative to Movoflex?

If you want glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and green-lipped mussel alongside hyaluronic acid and Boswellia, with the main amounts on the label and a 60-day money-back guarantee, we'd recommend MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews. Swap rather than stack, and give it six to eight weeks.

Can I switch from Movoflex to MedPaw straight away?

Yes. Stop Movoflex and start MedPaw the next day. There's no need for a gap, and you shouldn't give both. Check with your vet first if your dog takes any medication.
