Hi, I'm the MedPaw dose helper. Let's see how MedPaw compares for your dog.

First, roughly how big is your dog?

Quick answer: the biggest problem with VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews right now is that you can't buy them: the only pack size is marked "Sold Out", and the chews aren't in VetUK's current own-brand supplement range. The reviews are also old. All 17 are on VetUK's own site, and the ones shown date from 2017 to 2020, including a fussy dog that wouldn't touch them and a terrier that struggled to swallow them. The chews leave out chondroitin (other than from mussel), hyaluronic acid and Boswellia, and VetUK only takes back unopened items unless they're faulty. The 4.9 rating comes from those 17 reviews. If that sounds familiar, we'd recommend trying MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews instead: a soft chew dogs take like a treat, with all six key joint actives and the main amounts per chew on the label, a subscription you can pause or cancel any time, and a 60-day money-back guarantee with nothing to send back.

Transparency note: this page is written by MedPaw, which makes a competing joint supplement. Reviews are quoted word for word with links so you can check them. Listings, labels and terms were checked on 8 October 2026.

The most common VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews complaints and drawbacks

VetUK is a UK online pet pharmacy, and these are its own-brand joint chews. We read every review shown on the product page; we found the chews only on VetUK's own site. Most reviews are positive, so the table below combines the complaints reviewers raised with the drawbacks we could verify from VetUK's own pages.

VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews: complaints and drawbacks (checked 8 October 2026)

Complaint or drawback How often What we found
Can't buy them Now The 60-chew pack is "Sold Out", and the chews aren't listed in VetUK's current own-brand supplement range
Old reviews All those shown The reviews shown date from June 2017 to June 2020
Dog refused them 1 of the reviews shown A fussy eater wouldn't touch them over three days
Hard to swallow 1 of the reviews shown A terrier who gulps his food struggled; the owner cut them into quarters
Missing actives Label No chondroitin listed apart from green-lipped mussel; no hyaluronic acid or Boswellia
Label gaps Label No full ingredient list or allergen statement; "meat flavoured" without naming the meat
Returns VetUK policy Items must be unopened and returned within 14 days; no money-back guarantee stated

"He won't touch it" and "trouble getting them down"

VetUK doesn't show star ratings next to individual reviews, so we've given the reviewer's name and date:

    • "I have offered him one for the last 3 days and am disappointed to say he won't touch it." (Helene R., VetUK, June 2017)
    • "My wire haired terrier loves these but he tends to inhale his food in one go :) and seemed to have trouble getting them down. Worried they might get stuck so cut them into 4." (Helen F., VetUK, July 2017)

Sold out, with no word on a return

The product page lists one option, "60 Chews", marked "(Sold Out)". VetUK's current own-brand supplements page lists eleven products, and Joint and Mobility Chews isn't one of them. VetUK doesn't say whether the chews have been discontinued or replaced. Its own-brand joint products today are Hip & Joint Soft Chews and Joint Supplement Tablets, which are different products with different formulas.

    The returns catch

We found no money-back guarantee from VetUK. Its returns page says items must be "unopened, unused and in their original packaging", and you need to tell VetUK and send them back within 14 days. So if your dog won't eat the chews, or they don't help, an opened tub can't be returned for a change of mind.

Why VetUK customers switch to MedPaw

MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews differ from VetUK's chews on exactly the points above.

VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews vs MedPaw on the things that matter to owners

The complaint VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews MedPaw
Being able to buy it Sold out; not in VetUK's current own-brand range Order direct from medpaw.co.uk
Knowing what's in it MSM, glucosamine and green-lipped mussel; no separate chondroitin, hyaluronic acid or Boswellia; no full ingredient list All six key joint actives, with the main amounts per chew on the label: MSM 185mg, glucosamine 170mg, chondroitin 70mg, green-lipped mussel 70mg, Boswellia 30mg, plus hyaluronic acid
Small dogs Half a chew a day under 5kg 1 whole chew a day up to 4kg
Getting your money back Unopened items only, within 14 days (unless faulty) 60 days from delivery, for any reason; email us and keep the tub
Keeping supplies coming No repeat order offered on this product Subscription you can pause, change or cancel any time from your account, or just email us

Our recommendation: if your dog was on VetUK's chews and you can't get them any more, or you'd like chondroitin, hyaluronic acid and Boswellia alongside glucosamine, MSM and green-lipped mussel, switch to MedPaw. Swap rather than stack: stop VetUK's chews and start MedPaw the next day. Give it six to eight weeks, and if you're not happy, email us within 60 days and we'll refund you. Try MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews.

VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews' rating, in context

The chews are rated 4.9 out of 5 from 17 reviews on VetUK's own site, with 16 at five stars and one at four (checked 8 October 2026). That's a small number of reviews, all on the seller's own website, and the ones shown are between six and nine years old. One reviewer wrote that she could "only rate the product 1" because her dog refused it, yet the breakdown shows no one-star reviews, and another's praise was mostly for VetUK's delivery. A rating built on 17 reviews, the newest shown from 2020, can't tell you much about a product you can no longer buy.

To be fair to VetUK, several reviewers reported real improvements, including one owner who said their arthritic Labrador showed "vast improvements in mobility" after about six weeks, and the chews listed more glucosamine (500mg), MSM (500mg) and green-lipped mussel (400mg) per chew than many rivals.

If nothing has worked so far

If your dog is still stiff or sore after a fair trial of any supplement, see your vet. They may suggest pain relief, weight loss or an omega-3 fish oil at a proper dose, which has the strongest evidence for dogs with arthritis. Our verdict

VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews are sold out and missing from VetUK's current range, their reviews are few and years old, and they leave out hyaluronic acid, Boswellia and a separate source of chondroitin. If you need a replacement, MedPaw is the alternative we'd recommend: a soft chew with all six key joint actives and a 60-day guarantee. For more on the actives VetUK's chews leave out, read glucosamine and chondroitin for dogs and Boswellia for dogs, or see our VetIQ reviews, another range VetUK stocks.

What are the most common complaints about VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews?

Most of the 17 reviews are positive. The complaints shown are a fussy dog refusing the chews and a terrier struggling to swallow them. The bigger drawbacks today are that the chews are sold out, the reviews shown date from 2017 to 2020, and the formula has no hyaluronic acid, Boswellia or separate chondroitin.

Have VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews been discontinued?

VetUK hasn't said. On 8 October 2026, the only pack size was marked "Sold Out", and the chews weren't listed in VetUK's current own-brand supplement range. Its current own-brand joint products are Hip & Joint Soft Chews and Joint Supplement Tablets, which have different formulas.

Are VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews any good?

Their 17 reviews were mostly positive, but the ones shown are six to nine years old and the chews can't currently be bought. If you need an alternative, MedPaw is a soft chew with all six key joint actives and a 60-day money-back guarantee.

Can I return VetUK chews if my dog won't eat them?

VetUK's returns page says items must be unopened, unused and in their original packaging, returned within 14 days. MedPaw's guarantee lasts 60 days from delivery, for any reason, and you don't need to send anything back.

What's the best alternative to VetUK Joint and Mobility Chews?

If you want glucosamine, MSM and green-lipped mussel plus chondroitin, hyaluronic acid and Boswellia in one soft chew, we'd recommend MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews. Like VetUK's chews, it contains green-lipped mussel, so it isn't suitable for dogs with a shellfish allergy.

Can I switch from VetUK's chews to MedPaw straight away?

Yes. Stop VetUK's chews and start MedPaw the next day. There's no need for a gap, and you shouldn't give both. Check with your vet first if your dog takes any medication.
