Hi, I'm the MedPaw dose helper. Joint Care is now Joint Support. Let's see how MedPaw compares for your dog.

First, roughly how big is your dog?

In this article

Quick answer: YuMOVE Joint Care hasn't been discontinued; it has been renamed Joint Support. YuMOVE's own product page now describes YuMOVE Joint Support for Adult Dogs as "formerly YuMOVE Joint Care for Adult Dogs", and the PLUS version as "formerly YuMOVE Joint Care PLUS for dogs". The glucosamine is unchanged at 250mg per tablet, but the label isn't identical: the 150mg of green-lipped mussel on the Joint Care label is now a 150mg "ActivEase Complex" of green-lipped mussel and hoki fish combined. If the change has you looking at other options, we'd recommend trying MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews instead: a soft chew with all six key joint actives, the main amounts per chew on the label, and a 60-day money-back guarantee.

Transparency note: this page is written by MedPaw, which makes a competing joint supplement. Product names and labels are quoted from YuMOVE's website and UK retailers' listings, with links. Everything was checked on 8 October 2026.

What happened to YuMOVE Joint Care?

YuMOVE has moved its range from "Care" names to "Support" names. On 8 October 2026:

    • The YuMOVE Joint Support for Adult Dogs page says it is "formerly YuMOVE Joint Care for Adult Dogs". Some product images on the page are still labelled "Joint Care".
    • The YuMOVE Joint Support PLUS for Dogs page says "formerly YuMOVE Joint Care PLUS for dogs".
    • YuMOVE's dog range now lists products such as Joint Support PLUS Max, Calming Support and Digestive Support.
    • Supermarkets including Tesco and Sainsbury's still list "YuMOVE Joint Care for Adult Dogs", so you may see both names on shelves for a while.

YuMOVE doesn't publish a date for the change, and its product pages don't describe it as a new formula.

Old and new YuMOVE joint names (as stated by YuMOVE)

    Old name New name
YuMOVE Joint Care for Adult Dogs YuMOVE Joint Support for Adult Dogs
YuMOVE Joint Care PLUS for dogs YuMOVE Joint Support PLUS for Dogs

    Did the formula change?

We compared the Joint Care for Adult Dogs label shown by Tesco and Sainsbury's with the Joint Support for Adult Dogs label on yumove.co.uk.

Joint Care vs Joint Support for Adult Dogs: published labels (checked 8 October 2026)

Label item Joint Care (Tesco, Sainsbury's) Joint Support (yumove.co.uk)
Glucosamine HCl per tablet 250mg 250mg
Mussel line per tablet Green-lipped mussel powder, 150mg ActivEase Complex (green-lipped mussel and hoki), 150mg
    Green-lipped mussel powder in composition 17% 11.9%
Fish Fish powder (no percentage given) Hoki fish meal, 5.1%
Pork liver powder Listed Not listed
Hyaluronic acid per tablet 1.5mg 1.4mg
    Vitamin C per tablet 12.5mg 13.1mg
    Total omega-3 0.62% 0.68%

What that means: the glucosamine is the same, and protein, fat, fibre and ash figures match. The main difference is the mussel. Joint Care's label lists 17% green-lipped mussel powder; Joint Support's lists 11.9% green-lipped mussel plus 5.1% hoki fish meal, which together make the same 17%. On our reading of those percentages (both tablets work out at roughly 880mg), that's about 105mg of green-lipped mussel per Joint Support tablet, against about 150mg on the Joint Care label, with hoki fish making up the rest of the 150mg complex. YuMOVE doesn't say when this changed, and retailer listings can lag behind, so check the label on the pack you buy.

The feeding bands by weight are the same on both, and YuMOVE says there's "No need to double if switching from another YuMOVE Joint Care product", so if you're moving from an old Joint Care pack to a new Joint Support pack, you don't need to restart the loading phase.

What the change means if you're buying

    • It isn't a new product for your dog's routine. Joint Support is YuMOVE's own successor to Joint Care, at the same tablets per day.
    • The mussel content isn't the same on paper. If you chose YuMOVE for green-lipped mussel, the new label lists less of it per tablet, with hoki fish added.
    • Allergens: the new label lists mollusc (green-lipped mussel) and fish (hoki), and no pork liver.
    • Old stock: both names may be on sale for a while. Neither label lists chondroitin, MSM or Boswellia as separate ingredients.

For the rest of the YuMOVE range, see which YuMOVE is right for your dog and YuMOVE PLUS Max explained. For the complaints owners raise, see our YuMOVE reviews page: in short, subscriptions, price, dogs refusing tablets and some seeing no difference.

Why YuMOVE customers switch to MedPaw

If the rename has prompted you to look at what's actually in your dog's supplement, here's how MedPaw compares with YuMOVE Joint Support for Adult Dogs.

    YuMOVE Joint Support vs MedPaw

The issue YuMOVE Joint Support MedPaw
Joint actives Glucosamine, green-lipped mussel and hoki, hyaluronic acid; no separately listed chondroitin, MSM or Boswellia All six key joint actives: glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, green-lipped mussel, hyaluronic acid and Boswellia
Amounts on the label Glucosamine 250mg; mussel and hoki combined 150mg Main amounts per chew: MSM 185mg, glucosamine 170mg, chondroitin 70mg, green-lipped mussel 70mg, Boswellia 30mg, plus hyaluronic acid
Format Tablet Soft chicken and bacon flavour chew, given like a treat
Loading phase Double for the first month Double for the first three weeks
Subscription Cancel by the day before your next order; charged orders can't be cancelled Pause, change or cancel any time from your account, or just email us
Guarantee 6 weeks of use first; claim by phone; return unused product and empty containers 60 days from delivery, for any reason; nothing to send back

Our recommendation: if you're rethinking YuMOVE now the name and label have changed, switch to MedPaw. You get chondroitin, MSM and Boswellia alongside glucosamine, green-lipped mussel and hyaluronic acid in a soft chew most dogs take like a treat. Swap rather than stack: stop YuMOVE and start MedPaw the next day, give it six to eight weeks, and if you're not happy, email us within 60 days of delivery for a refund. Try MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews.

MedPaw contains green-lipped mussel (mollusc) and gluten from brewer's yeast, so it isn't suitable for dogs with a shellfish allergy.

If nothing has worked so far

If your dog is still stiff or sore after a fair trial of any supplement, see your vet. They may suggest pain relief, weight loss or an omega-3 fish oil at a proper dose, which has the strongest evidence for dogs with arthritis. Read what you can safely give a dog for joint pain and the best fish oil for dogs' joints.

Has YuMOVE Joint Care been discontinued?

No. It has been renamed. YuMOVE's website now sells YuMOVE Joint Support for Adult Dogs, which it describes as "formerly YuMOVE Joint Care for Adult Dogs". Some retailers still list it under the old name.

Is YuMOVE Joint Support the same as Joint Care?

It's YuMOVE's direct replacement, with the same 250mg of glucosamine per tablet and the same feeding bands. The published labels differ slightly: the 150mg mussel complex now combines green-lipped mussel with hoki fish, and the green-lipped mussel share of the composition is lower (11.9% against 17%).

Is YuMOVE Joint Care PLUS now Joint Support PLUS?

Yes. YuMOVE's product page says Joint Support PLUS for dogs was "formerly YuMOVE Joint Care PLUS for dogs".

Do I need to restart the loading phase on Joint Support?

YuMOVE says there's no need to double up if you're switching from another YuMOVE Joint Care product, so moving from an old Joint Care pack to Joint Support doesn't need a new loading phase.

Does Joint Support contain chondroitin or MSM?

Neither is listed as a separate ingredient; the Joint Care label describes its green-lipped mussel as "containing natural Chondroitin". MedPaw lists chondroitin 70mg and MSM 185mg per chew, alongside glucosamine, green-lipped mussel, hyaluronic acid and Boswellia.

Can I switch from YuMOVE to MedPaw straight away?

Yes. Stop YuMOVE and start MedPaw the next day, using MedPaw's loading amount for the first three weeks. Don't give both, and check with your vet first if your dog takes any medication.
