Hi, I'm the MedPaw dose helper. Let's see how MedPaw compares for your dog.

First, roughly how big is your dog?

Quick answer: the main problem with the tails.com joint supplement is that you can't tell whether it works: its shop page says "No reviews yet", and among tails.com's 47,610 Trustpilot reviews we found just one that clearly described the joint chews. Beyond that, tails.com doesn't publish how much of each active is in a chew, there's no chondroitin, MSM or Boswellia, and you can only buy it from tails.com, mostly as an add-on to a food subscription whose low-rated reviews include cancelling and billing complaints. Its 4.4 Trustpilot score rates the food, not the chews. If that sounds familiar, we'd recommend trying MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews instead: a soft chew with all six key joint actives and the main amounts per chew on the label, a subscription you can pause or cancel any time, and a 60-day money-back guarantee with nothing to send back.

Transparency note: this page is written by MedPaw, which makes a competing joint supplement. Reviews are quoted word for word with links so you can check them. Ratings, labels and terms were checked on 8 October 2026.

The most common tails.com joint supplement complaints and drawbacks

tails.com added its Joint Support chews in July 2024 (Pet Business World). We checked its shop, help centre and Trustpilot for reviews of them and found one, a positive one. So rather than invent complaints, the table below sets out the drawbacks we could verify.

tails.com Joint Support drawbacks (checked 8 October 2026)

    Drawback What we found
Almost no reviews "No reviews yet" on the shop page; one Trustpilot review clearly about the joint chews
No amounts per chew Ingredients listed as percentages only; no chew weight, so no milligrams
Missing actives Glucosamine, green-lipped mussel, hyaluronic acid and turmeric; no chondroitin, MSM or Boswellia
Only sold by tails.com Added to a tails.com food subscription or bought from its shop; UK only
Subscription complaints tails.com's one-star reviews include trouble cancelling and unexpected charges (about the service as a whole, not the chews)
Not for every dog tails.com says dogs with pancreatitis shouldn't take its supplements; contains gluten and molluscs

    "No reviews yet"

The Joints Supplement page on the tails.com shop shows "(No reviews yet)". On Trustpilot, a search of tails.com's reviews for "joint" and "supplement" turned up one clear mention of the chews, a positive one. Most "joint" mentions are about tails.com's food, not the chews.

    A label without amounts

The shop page lists the ingredients by percentage: chickpea flour 23.27%, yeast 19%, glycerine 15%, glucosamine 8.33%, green-lipped mussel 6%, turmeric 3.3% and hyaluronic acid 0.17%, among others. It doesn't give the weight of a chew, so you can't tell how many milligrams of each your dog gets. It also has no feeding amounts; those are in the help centre: one chew a day up to 15kg, two for 15 to 30kg, three for 30 to 45kg, and one more for every extra 15kg. Read the tails.com joint supplement ingredients explained for more.

    "Unable to cancel my accounts"

The chews launched as an add-on to the tails.com box, so the subscription matters. Recent low-rated Trustpilot reviews of tails.com include:

    • "Unable to cancel my accounts so will have to cancel my direct debit." (Hannah M., 1 star, September 2026)
    • "Too much too often very difficult to change or cancel" (A R., 1 star, September 2026)
    • "the initial trial was automatically converted into a full subscription and dispatched." (Graham L., 2 stars, July 2026)

tails.com's terms say a subscription must be cancelled on or before the "last date for changes" shown on your dashboard, and its help centre says it can't cancel a delivery once it's in progress. See how to cancel a tails.com subscription.

    No guarantee on the chews

We couldn't find a money-back guarantee for the tails.com supplements. Its terms ask you to email about a return within 7 working days of receiving your product, which is far too soon to judge a joint supplement.

Why tails.com customers switch to MedPaw

MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews differ from the tails.com chews on exactly the points above.

tails.com Joint Support vs MedPaw on the things that matter to owners

The complaint tails.com Joint Support MedPaw
Knowing what's in it Percentages only; no amounts per chew All six key joint actives, with the main amounts per chew on the label: MSM 185mg, glucosamine 170mg, chondroitin 70mg, green-lipped mussel 70mg, Boswellia 30mg, plus hyaluronic acid
Chondroitin, MSM and Boswellia None listed All three included
Getting your money back No guarantee we could find; returns within 7 working days 60 days from delivery, for any reason; email us and keep the tub
Cancelling Cancel by the "last date for changes"; deliveries in progress can't be cancelled Pause, change or cancel any time from your account, or just email us
Buying it on its own Through tails.com's subscription or its shop Ordered direct from us, no food subscription needed

Our recommendation: if you want to know what's in each dose, you'd like chondroitin, MSM and Boswellia in the same chew, or you want a guarantee long enough to judge it, switch to MedPaw. You can keep your tails.com food and just remove the joint chews from your box. Swap rather than stack: stop the tails.com chews and start MedPaw the next day. Give it six to eight weeks, and if you're not happy, email us within 60 days and we'll refund you. Try MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews.

    tails.com's rating, in context

tails.com is rated 4.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 47,610 reviews (checked 8 October 2026). That rating is for the whole service, mainly its tailored dog food and deliveries. The joint chews have no rating of their own: the shop page has no reviews, and the only Trustpilot review we found that clearly described them was positive. A high score for food and delivery doesn't tell you whether the joint chews will help your dog.

To be fair to tails.com, the one owner who mentioned the chews was pleased: "we also give her the tails joint supplement which seems to be helping her as she doesn't limp as badly anymore!" (Alan W., 5 stars, February 2026). The chews are also easy to add to a box you already get.

If nothing has worked so far

If your dog is still stiff or sore after a fair trial of any supplement, see your vet. They may suggest pain relief, weight loss or an omega-3 fish oil at a proper dose, which has the strongest evidence for dogs with arthritis. Read what you can safely give a dog for joint pain and the best fish oil for dogs' joints.

    Our verdict

The tails.com joint supplement has almost no reviews, no published amounts per chew, no chondroitin, MSM or Boswellia, and no guarantee we could find, and it comes wrapped in a subscription some owners struggle to leave. If you want a chew with all six key joint actives and a 60-day guarantee, MedPaw is the alternative we'd recommend. For more on the actives it leaves out, read our guides to Boswellia for dogs, MSM for dogs and glucosamine and chondroitin.

What are the most common complaints about the tails.com joint supplement?

We found no negative reviews of the joint chews, because there are hardly any reviews at all. The drawbacks we could verify are the lack of reviews, no published amounts per chew, no chondroitin, MSM or Boswellia, no guarantee, and that it's sold through tails.com, whose low-rated reviews include trouble cancelling and unexpected charges.

Is the tails.com joint supplement any good?

There isn't enough review evidence to say. Its shop page has no reviews and we found one positive Trustpilot review that clearly mentioned it. If you want a soft chew with all six key joint actives and a 60-day money-back guarantee, MedPaw is the alternative we'd recommend.

What's in the tails.com joint supplement?

tails.com lists glucosamine (8.33%), green-lipped mussel (6%), turmeric (3.3%) and hyaluronic acid (0.17%) as its key ingredients, in a chickpea flour, yeast and glycerine base with bacon flavouring. It doesn't publish amounts per chew.

Can I remove the joint chews from my tails.com box?

Yes. tails.com's help centre says to go to Deliveries in your account, open your next delivery, click edit next to the item and reduce it to zero, then select Update. Do it before the last date for changes.

What's the best alternative to the tails.com joint supplement?

If you want chondroitin, MSM and Boswellia alongside glucosamine, green-lipped mussel and hyaluronic acid, with the main amounts on the label, we'd recommend MedPaw Hip & Joint Chews. Swap rather than stack, and give it six to eight weeks.

Can I switch from the tails.com joint supplement to MedPaw straight away?

Yes. Stop the tails.com chews and start MedPaw the next day. There's no need for a gap, and you shouldn't give both. Check with your vet first if your dog takes any medication.
